Happy Halloween

we enjoyed ourselves a little pumpkin carving at the greg's on hallow's eve. we all pretty much had a pumpkin but as before mentioned jude does not like the actual act of pumpkin carving so he sat idly by (as if any 2 7/8 child sits idly by...).

jude did however chose which design he wanted me to carve so he paid extra attention to my work.

nannie really is the bestest grandma around. last saturday she hosted a halloween party for all of her grandkids (minus the sanoma county ones). it was a smash, a lot out of control, but a smash none the less. the four 2-3 year olds were a little intense.

going from car to car was a lot of work for sir jude but as he loves all things halloween, trunk-r-treat was no different.

26 feels old

i had a wonderful birthday this year....
trevan stayed home from work and the kids didn't wake up until 10:30. i love having trevan home from work, that may have been the best part of the day. we had a late breakfast at iHop (no laughing, i wanted breakfast) and then spied some christmas wish list hopeful's at REI.

that night we supped at the precious delicous 'italian village' and then headed over to the greg's for some cake. what a wonderful day.

once again, i was totally and completely spoiled. what can i say? people love me.

jude was not too hip on it being my birthday. he kept saying "let's go to jude's birthday!". next week bud, next week.

i heart my in-laws. i am so one of them.

Happy Birthday My Beautiful Girl!!

So I've never done this blog thing before, so sorry if it doesn't have nice fonts and the witty writing of my wife. Yesterday (10/28) was her birthday, so after what she did for my birthday, I wanted to list 26 things that I LOVE about Kennan.

Off we go......

1. How stunningly beautiful she is
2. How she dresses
3. The way she sings in the car
4. How wonderful she is to our kids
5. The way Greta lights up when she sees her mommie
6. How Jude prefers her to me any day (it used to be hard, but not anymore)
7. Her home-made meals
8. Her determination....when she wants something done, either get on board or get out of the way!!
9. How pro-active she is w/ our kids and their issues, other than ear infections.
10. Her love for cop/lawyer/missing people TV shows (Law & Order, Cold Case, Without a Trace).
11. Her loyalty
12. How she wants to be the best at all she does
13. How she pretends to care about my hobbies when I talk to her about them, but I really know that she could care less.
14. Her sense of humor and quick wit
15. Her ability to calm me down when I'm stressed
16. How she always wants to spend all of her time w/ me
17. I never question her love for me or our kids
18. Her sweet dance moves, mostly the hopping 1-legged kick
19. She brought the 2 most beautiful children into this earth for us
20. Her ability to laugh at herself and not take things so seriously
21. Her high cheek-bones and softest lips ever
22. Her short hair. I love love love it. Nobody wears it as good as her
23. How she's way out of my league

25. I never have to worry about not having the best-dressed kids

I hope you know how much I love you! You're the best and I'm so glad that you chose me. I don't know what I'd do without you.

after a month of complaining of his ear being sore, jude's ear drum ruptured today. who knew that when a ear drum ruptured that it gushed blood? i sure didn't. great. i am a great mom. maybe i should listen to him when he says his ears hurt? . i just thought his tubes we acting up, guess not. the doctor said his ear should stop oozing and aching within the week. great.

really, i think they might take my kids away. i definitely think i should have more kids....

i am sorry judakins. let's hope it doesn't happen again.

the greg's get (more) pumpkins

because jude's 7 (thats right, 7) pumpkins that we have collected over the past month in his room aren't enough, we went to get more pumpkins as a family tonight. i wanted to do the real pumpkin patch experience so we went out to schmidts pumpkin patch in west jordan. it was really big and pretty inexpensive but the weather was a little cold for our taste. of course, jude was ecstatic and was upset when he found out the 3 pumpkins we purchased would not be going in his room but soon calmed when he was told that the 3 mini pumpkins that nannie bought him (against his parents wishes) could. the kid loves pumpkins.

i wish that you could see what is in jude's hands.... he felt the need to bring his pumpkin carving set and his frankenstein card from yaya. can you blame him? i love him.

the best part of the night was that nannie and grandpa mike joined us. my dad actually left utah county, crazy.

we ate delectable crown burger after but our evening was cut short when we heard devastating news about my uncle tim. my mom rushed down to be with my aunt holley at the hospital. he suffered a heart attack and a stroke and is currently in the ICU. not the best way to end your day..... his family is in our prayers, we love you kay family!

forts + tents

jude is turning in to a kid and i don't know how i feel about it. he is not a baby anymore (minus that damn binki....sigh) and is now 100% little boy. he is all about guns, cars, batman, halloween (of course), star wars, baseball, and more recently forts and tents.

i happen to be, as it turns out, a pretty nifty fort maker and jude has me practicing my skills daily. we have a "permenant" fort in his bedroom and you should consider yourself lucky to be invited in to it. greta is usually the only one invited in (seeing as she is his same age), jude makes me get her a pillow like his and he reads her stories, so cute.

rogey and yaya were the most recent invitees to jude's fort. they learned quick that once you get in his tent, jude will never let you out. did i mention that they are the perfect grandparents? it was a tight sqeeze but they made it.... also, pants are not necessary to enter the fort according to jude.

one day maybe you too will be invited to his "port". you can only hope....
