The Gravely

My Dad's favorite thing in the world was purchased this summer, THE GRAVELY. All in all its just a lawn mower but its so much more than that for my Dad. He has hired out to have his yard work done ever since I can remember, in fact I have never even mowed a lawn. This year he thought he would save some money and do it himself. It hurt him to see (literally) that in all the years he hired out he had actually grown old and was not the spring chicken he once was. After a few thrown out backs he decided to buy a riding lawn mower and not just any lawn mower, the Gravely!!!! He remembered seeing them used at the Little America in Cheyenne growing up and he knew they were the best and if you know my Dad he HAS to have the best. He claims he likes this more than any BMW he ever owned.

So the other night we decided Jude was ready to try it out but not without taking proper safety precautions, he had his car seat. The girls yelled into my Dad to come help us and he came running out to see Jude ready to mow!

Father's

As it is Father's Day I am bound to say something about the Father's in my life. This is officially Trevan's first Father's Day and I am so proud of my wonderful husband. Trevan was a little upset, or maybe afraid when he found out he was going to be a father but ever since the day that our sweet Jude was born Trevan has been an amazing father. I will never forget the look in Trevan's eyes when he held Jude for the first time, its was so wonderful. Jude loves his Daddy and is always so excited when he comes home from work, he shows it by what Trevan calls "riverdancing" with his legs. I know Trevan will continue to grow into his role as a Father and he looks forward to many of baseball games and wrestling on the floor with his sweet Baby Jude.

I never had any doubts about his fathering skills because his own father, Roger, is so wonderful. I used to pray that Trevan would be a Dad like his and he his. Roger is the ideal Dad and husband for that matter. It is in his new role as Grandpa that Rog shines the most. Jude adores Rog and you can see it in any picture that has them both in it. I can't count how many times Rog will just take Jude from anyone who is holding him and snuggle and play with him. I cannot wait for Jude to get older so he can appreciate the Father figures in his life.

Now last but defiantly not least is my Dad Mike. I can't say too much bad about him because I am so much like him myself. Infact, one of my favorite things about me is my Dad. My Dad was a different Father than most but he was perfect for me. As a child no one could handle me but my Dad. He was always able to help things make sense for me and make me understand things, he could get through to me when no one else could. No one can make you laugh like my Dad and he is always there for you when you need him. I will always look up to him and look forward to taking care of him in his old age as he has requested.

Support Systems

It is in time like these that you realize the importance of support systems. I am so grateful to live close so to mine. Last night it was like Jude's birth all over again, he had visitors all night. We all sat around and were entertained by Judakins. Jude is so loved and last night he was so happy to have people around, he knew he was the center of attention. I have received so many calls and messages in regards to Jude's well being and it is so comforting. I do not know what we would do without our support system. They make times like these seem so much easier.
