Gabi wasn't eating very well and didn't have a poopie diaper after she was born and the Doctors became concerned. They thought she may have an infection in the bowels or that she had some sort of bowel obstruction. They took her immediately up to Primary Childrens Hospital NICU where a Surgeon ran some tests and decided that he needed to operate the next day. They went in with 2 scopes on her sides and then made an incision above her umbilical cord and found that she had descended bowels. I am not completely sure what it is or what the Doctor did but basically they reconfigured her stomach so she would be able to, for lack of better words, poop.
She is doing better and has had only some minor set backs. Brad and Vanessa are handling this set back as well as imagined but the the Doctors are pretty sure that Gabi will be fine and have no complications for the rest of her life. We all have been able to scrub up and visit her in the NICU. She is so pretty and we are just excited for her to come home. Please keep them in your prayers.
