we have sod.
it was a really long time coming.... like 3 1/2 years. i think maybe our neighbors were giving us a standing ovation for finally putting our yard in. fortunately for us (or maybe unfortunately), we live in an area where unfinished yards and general nastiness is not something out of the ordinary. however, i have never felt prouder of our little house last saturday when we finally got sod. it's cuteness factor went up 10 fold. now all we have to do to make the exterior complete is paint the house, brick and all. any volunteers?
special thanks to rog, landy, blake, and dustin for helping lay the sod. it meant a lot to me that they would sacrifice their saturday to help us.
them are nice.
i got the privilege of taking care of the kiddies while the men labored. we had a good time and yes, a slip-n-side was used on our front lawn. i told you, that kind of behavior is okay in white city.
the first strip....
it's been a week, we have watered a lot and have had many family member over to pat our backs because we did this ourselves. we do all of it ourselves, we don't have the luxury (yet) of hiring out but we do have rog (trevan's dad) and he is better than any hired help. seriously, he and landon were machines when it came to helping us. the gregory's? they are good people.
oh, and now we can finally enjoy our summer.
post edit:
brennan and cameron helped at times too.
no pic's of the finished project??? WTF?
ReplyDeleteBrennan and Cameron didn't help one bit...
ReplyDeleteI am impressed. I wouldn't have the foggiest idea how to lay sod. I don't even know how to turn the sprinklers on. But I do know how good it feels to have grass instead of dirt. So congratulations!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with Trevan. Where are the finished pictures?
Brennan and Cameron will never help again... Kennan is so grateful....NOT
ReplyDeleteThe Williams clan truly DID NOT help at ALL...but wait until it comes time to paint. We are TOTALLY in then! You name the date and time and we will be there with out grubbies on and paint brushes and rollers in hand. BTW...the finished product looks amazing. I'm so proud! XO
ReplyDeleteSeriously...where's the finished product pics? Lame..
