modified bed rest & painting

we had a bit of a scare. last week i had some pre-term labor problems, mostly contractions, and we spent some time in labor & delivery. to make a long story short everything is fine but i am on "modified" bed rest until the contractions stop. they are fine unless i am up for an extended period of time, so no more shopping and working for me. i do not want a preemie!

in the meantime our basement has to be done by wednesday the 19th because that is when we are getting carpet. so with me being on the verge of a mental breakdown my sweet parents came and help paint my hallway. i got to lay on the couch and monitor while everyone worked. it turned out fantastic and i found myself wondering why i didn't paint that blasted hallway a year ago when we moved in. trevan and his dad, rog, are still busy in the basement. i am sure they are about ready to kill me but i love them.

trevan is not so sure about any of the process. i think we have found that a remodel is the absolute worst thing for our relationship and that trevan does not like pressure. so for future reference we will be hiring out for help and i need to not be pregnant.

ummm, for those of you who don't know my dad......

1. he has bladder cancer
2. he asked me to take his picture with him dying of cancer
3. he is totally and completely crazy (but i love every minute of it)

horray for snow! we finally got a decent amount and saturday morning mr. plow and jude were out clearing off the driveway. i know mr. plow (aka trev) is grateful for jude's help. we got so much snow that i even got stuck in our driveway trying to go get us some hot chocolate for breakfast. having snow like this reminds me that yes, we do live in utah and yes, it is suppose to snow here.

if i were in this picture i would be making the same face. OUR BASEMENT IS ALMOST FINISHED! do you see the drywall? great, great, great! i am one happy camper. jude is too! every night he gets to strap on his tool belt and "taoboy" boots to help daddie and papa in the basement. its cute, after about an hour he is ready to come up and go to bed, or as he would have it watch cars for the 8th time that day.

so i was wrong. i know you are all disappointed that the beautiful baby girl in the previous post will not be my first born daughter. we all went to the ultrasound appointment (jude wanted to see "sissy") and everything looks perfectly normal. she is measuring right on for her due date and from what they could tell, perfectly healthy. we couldn't get the best shot of her face because she was sucking on her foot. she is really flexible! trevan said he was saving that picture for her husband because he could appreciate that!

the best news is that she really is a girl! i was skeptical with our 1st u/s so it was good to get another one. nothing is big about her except her mom. i love that i can look a full month further along than i am. so lucky am i! unlike my friend val, gaining weight is not something i want to do.

who doesn't love christmas? if there is someone out there i would like to know. i am so super excited for christmas this year. last year we were in the midst of our move and our christmas present was our house. we are going all out this year and only because we have our little elf to help. he is all things christmas. i was nervous about halloween being over because he was so into that but with christmas around the corner we were able to survive. he love love LOVES christmas and i am glad. jude is the secret ingredient to make all things wonderful!

lets just say trev and i got into a little "tiff" right before this. mostly it was me being pregnant and grumpy and him being not pregnant and grumpy. so jude and i went solo to the tree lot. i am really stubborn and am sad i was stupid and didn't wait for trevan. we did HOWEVER wind up with the perfect tree.

my name is kennan and i am pregnant with a giant

random. i went to the doctor today for my routine 22 week check up and turns out i am having a giant! i am measuring 4 1/2 weeks big! i have only gained 10lbs so far, my blood pressure is totally normal, and the baby's heart rate is in the 150's. all of these things are perfectly normal. what isn't normal is how big i am measuring (fundal height 26-27 cm). dr. parker didn't seem overly concerned, he even ok'd our cruise in mid january. although, he did suggest an ultrasound to see why i am measuring so big. he didn't think the reason was a giant baby but i an convinced. we go in on thursday for the ultrasound, i'll let you know how we fair.
