the 24th of july & the salt lake bees

one of the best part of being a gregory is the 24th of july tradition of going to the bee's baseball games. in fact it is so much fun that this year my family bought their own tickets and joined us at the game. terri bought jude a very cool baseball outfit and he looked way too cute for his own good. the 24th of july is a utah holiday, where we celebrate our statehood. the best part of it is at the end of the game there is an amazing firework show. we had so much fun and ate to our hearts content...love baseball game food.

Sunday's at Nannie's

GREAT NEWS!!!! Jude learned how to throw temper tantrums, he's just like me. Here he is throwing one because Lucy the dog won't come by him.

Vanessa and Gabi (7 months along)

Connected to my parents neighborhood is Adventure Learning Park where I grew up playing. There is a large pond with fish and ducks, a nature trail w/ waterfall, playground, and lots of walking trails. Its sort of become a tradition that while at Nannie's we go on a walk after dinner. Jude likes it because where we live there is really no where to walk. It was extremely hot out and we put Jude's feet in the waterfall to cool off and he loved it, he wouldn't go back in his stroller and wanted to play in the water.

I Got a Job!

I got a job last week at Naartjie. Naartjie (nar-chee) is a children's store out of South Africa. It's pretty new here in the U.S. but I really like it. The clothing is really different and unqie. Utah is as far east as the store goes right now and most of the stores are in California. I only work about 10-15 hours a week at night and we figured that I could earn some money to help with the bills and get cute clothes for Jude with my discount. I am a slave to the retail world but its kind of my bag.

more time with the greg's

This summer has been pretty fun. We have spent a lot of time with our families and laughed a lot. Landon has been playing baseball since the spring and since Trevan is obsessed with baseball (even little league) and I love just hanging out we have been going to a lot of his games. He made All-Stars and made it to the state tournament. Landon and Trevan are a lot a like. They both have these really obsessive personalties. They get so obsessed with something and its all they do and read about. Trevan has been on baseball for about 2 years now but he sometimes gets sidetracked with tennis or road biking. So now Landon is off baseball and onto golf and he eats, sleeps, and lives the golfers life. Don't worry though because soccer will start soon and then he will be onto that. I love having a little brother, and Jude quite likes Lando himself. (sorry trev)

Jude hasn't quite got the pincher reflex yet, but he sure can cross his fingers.

The other night we were eating at out new favorite spot Jason's Deli and Brennan was feeding Jude an ice cream cone. Little did he know that about 20 minutes earlier I was putting olives on Jude's fingers and Jude was popping them in his mouth and gumming them to pieces. Jude doesn't always swallow his food, he is like his Grandpa Mike and savors the food for a few hours in his cheeks. Brennan went down to take a lick of the cone and was shocked and disgusted to find a half eaten olive lodged in the ice cream.

PAIGE IS GETTING MARRIED!!!!

this is paige and her fiance nathan clark (nate). they got engaged on her 19th birthday july 6th. i am so excited for them and so excited to not be pregnant and her wedding like i was for brooke's. they haven't set a date yet but i'll let ya'll know when they do. isn't she the cutest?

Carnival

we went to the carnival last weekend and it was great. i think carnival's like this one are a dying breed. trevan had never been to "city of fun" carnival before and he was pleasantly surprised. although the freaks always come out and the carnies are in full swing it was still a good time. jude was very entertained by all the lights and thought that the merry-go-round was only okay, he may still be too young. i don't care what anyone says, i like carnivals even if all the rides make me sick. It makes me feel like i'm a kid again.

Jorth of Fuly

The 4th of July is my favorite holiday (next to Halloween). It was a odd Independence Day because we had a micro burst storm and rain. In all my years of celebrating I have never seen rain on the Fourth. We did not get to do some of the usual traditions like go to Sugarhouse with the Gregs, but we still had fun. We stayed down at my Mom's all day and saw the Hidden Oaks Parade, played tennis, napped, had a BBQ, the men played a "intense" (Brad and Dustin nearly got in a fight) game of croquet, and then shot of fireworks at my Dad's office. Jude is his mothers son, he loves fireworks just like me!!!

At The Zoo

robyn and bob were up for the 4th of july and we all went to the zoo. it was jude's first experience at the zoo and i don't think it will be too memorable. it was so hot and muggy so jude was a little lethargic, still he did think the elephants were quite interesting.

strangley enough trevan's favorite animal is a llama. its appropriate seeing as he sort of looks like one. so here is my own llama looking at his long lost brother.
