splash.

have you been the splash-pad in highland? well, we have and we go at least once a week. splash-pad or parks are the best thing that ever happened to hot utah summers. i am glad that i was raised in highland and that my mom still lives there, i don't feel quite as awkward driving all the way down there as often as i do.

i feel bad for you if you haven't seen this hot babe in action.

jude is lukewarm to the whole splash-pad idea. he says he doesn't like to get wet and yet swimming is his favorite past time. oh, well.

yes.

poppy decided to take a nap in the middle of the park. poppy and i are best friends, she loves me and i love her.

see you there?

sullivan.

brooke, nannie, and i packed up the jackson's new mini cooper and headed to st. george for the birth of my newest nephew.

umm, did you know robyn has 5 kids? its impressive, very impressive. i love my sister and she is beautiful inside and out. she weathered labor like a seasoned veteran and was kind enough to let me in the room for his delivery. child birth is most amazing thing in the world, and i am really not okay with not getting to do it. thank you forever and ever robyn (and brooke) for letting me share this experience.

and this is him.

there is just something about those lamoreaux kids, i simply adore them.

fathers day.

dear trevan,

we have 2 kids? how did we ever get here? we started this journey as parents nearly 5 years ago....

remember how scared you were? remember how you didn't think you were ready? remember how you were mad at me for being pregnant for the first few months? remember how it all changed the moment you saw jude's little heart beat on the monitor? remember picking out baby names, and you choosing jude? remember seeing his sweetest face for the first time? remember his burping face? remember jude always falling asleep with you? remember when jude said "dada" first? remember taking jude fly fishing with you in the backpack? remember his first steps? remember when jude fell in love with star wars? remember when jude helped you finished the basement? remember when jude became a big brother? remember jude's first baseball game? remember when jude got a bike? remember how jude won't let anyone call him his best friend but you? remember how you have a little boy that wants to be just like you?

remember when we found out we were having a little girl? remember how you chose the name greta? remember how scary her birth was? remember holding her for the first time? remember what it felt like to have a daughter? remember when we found out greta could see? remember when she sat for the first time? remember greta's miracle? remember her snuggles? remember when she started crawling? remember how greta is the sweetest happiest girl in the world? remember how she too called you "dada" first? remember greta in her walker? remember how she calls you a 'baby'? remember how she is a daddy's girl (as long as i am not around)?

remember how we are doing it all over again?

6 weeks

i remember all of it... the good times and the bad times. you are a fantastic father. your children adore you and so does your wife. thank you for your hard work, your sacrifices, and your patience. thank you for making me a mother and for wanting to be a father. you are a good man.

happy fathers day.

i love you (foreva-eva),

me.

p.s. i know its early to announce, i have had a miscarriage and know the risks. we are just too happy to not share the news. jude has never been more excited.

up the canyon

we do fun things.... sometimes.
oh, and by we, i mean us an the jacksons.

today we went to the splash pad in highland with goldie and amber, ate delicious snow cones on the side of SR-92, and then went up the big cottonwood canyon for a cookout with mark and tiff.

some kids in greta's 'situation' may be mad that they can't hike around but not our grets. she is perfectly content to sit and eat. she loves herself some food.

cute tiffani and her baby belly.
jealous.

these two,
jude and minie,

the LOVE they share is indescribable.

bratwursts and sauerkraut, potato salad, watermelon, chips, grapes, and smore's?
so good.

poppy is A.M.A.Z.E.... and should eat smore's more often. i love how her cheek and sleeve are connected by marshmallow goodness.

and that is all.

p.s. i really need a point n' shoot camera. i would have so SO much more to blog about. like our impromptu trip to bear like and many trips to the pool. imagine greta in a bikini cruising the pool deck in walker... i know.

sunday.

here is the thing about sundays.....

sometimes our kids don't wake up until well after church starts, like 2 hours after church starts. today was that sunday. what am i suppose to do? they are normally our alarm clocks. oh well, i guess next sunday i won't rely on them to wake us up.

greta laughing at her daddie.

so instead of staying home all day we decided to take advantage of both our situation and the beautiful weather. we packed our car with lunch, a blanket, and the child carrier and we were off. we drove up to midway and had a picnic along the provo river and went for a nice leisurely hike.

it was the best sunday i have had in a long time... minus the part where i got my thumb amputated in our car door (serves me right for not going to church!).

jude with a smile with everything on it.

senor.

jude hates not being able to be carried or being able to ride. like really, you will never neet a 4 year old who likes a stroller ride more than he does. he whined for the first half until i explained to him the story of the mormon pioneers and he shut right up. also, singing primary hymns is a great way to keep my kids entertained.

we drove around midway/heber for a few hours dreaming of houses we want want to live in one day. really, who doesn't want to live there? it's in our 10 year tenative plan.

it was a gregory sunday dinner tonight and something must have been in the water because things got a little crazy.

trevan is obsessed with smores and decided to start a fire right as a thunderstrom was approaching.

he only came inside after landon dragged him in and then he wouldn't wipe off his marshmellow stained face.

then he and landy started wrestling the rain and their shirts came off.

the sound of thunder, the yelling, and seeing their dad shirtless really upset my kids.

at one point trevan and landon got the brilliant idea to go jobbing in the rain. because what else do you do in the rain? at which point landon told trevan he looked really cool jogging in the rain with his dog tags and chest hair, and he was not joking.

then landy got sexy.

and of course jude had to join in on the fun as well.
(sidenote: upon posting this picture jude told me he looked like such a stud.)

it was a really weird/funny ending to a great day.

i like my family.
i love my life.

memorial day '10

memorial day is the official kick off of summer and i have never been more ready. this drab weather we have been having is enough to make me vomit. plus, greta has some really amazing clothes that need to be worn.

as usual we went with my family to provo to visit my grandpa and uncles grave sites. i have to admit that the more i visit provo the the less i hate it. its kind of charming... no?

i know its is kind of a 'no-no' to stand on graves but i think my grandpa glen would be proud to have greta sitting on his. i know that they were near and dear in heaven.

my dad... precious and i love his shirt that he has worn since 1980.

senor.
xo

jude and mins ran around like the crazies they are.
p.s. mini boden NEVER disappoints.

skinny bitch.
and i can say that because

a. she is my sister
b. i have had a potty mouth since the beginning of time
c. she is.
d. she looks amazing.

after the grave site visits we all headed back to nannie's to prepare our memorial day feast and a feast it was. the best part of all is that my brother bryce and his family were here. they have not been here in 2 years and it was so nice to be with my family. although we were missing 3 and 6, it was still nice to have my biggest brother around. in fact, i may or may not have lost my job over staying down at my parents instead of going into work. i won't regret it though, the laughter was well worth it.

while the men played croquet, the women (and lee) all sat around gossiping and the children followed around their new found heroes miranda and asher. greta was sick for most of the night but perked up just enough to jump on the tramp for a few hours.

miranda is the GREATEST 14 year old you will ever meet.
i adore her and so do all her cousins.

you won't see much of jude while asher is around because jude is busy chasing him around trying to get him to play with him. poor jude never has any boys to play with and he lurves his boy cousins to death.

i am glad that memorial day was good.
i think it means it will be a good summer.
