no, i have not had a baby yet. seems that sissy loves my uterus too much. (can you blame her?) was in the hospital on friday but they sent my none progressing butt home. i had a doctor's appointment today and we scheduled an induction for wednesday the 2nd. there is an end in sight! we are a little limited with the induction because we are trying for a VBAC but we are hopeful. the next time i update i better have a baby in my arms! wish us luck!

hoppy easter 08'

jude didn't sleep well last night and we are not sure if it was because of excitement over the easter bunny or getting 3 new molars. either way, we were all a little tired this morning but nothing was going to hold back us celebrating.

jude couldn't believe his eyes......

i am happy to say that jude enjoyed all of his little gifts. we spent at least an hour looking at and enjoying each thing. i love the dollar bin at target, it was perfect for jude "cars" themed easter. he saw this easter basket or as he calls it "tars purse" about 6 weeks ago and has been dying for it ever since.

handsome easter bunny boy in his easter church outfit.

i got one measly picture before he ran off

momo helping jude with his easter gift, his own golf set. we are trying to teach him how to use both hands. if only our real golf pro bren were here to teach him how to play.

baseball may be jude's sport since after each time he hit the golf ball he threw the club and proceeded to run around that yard as if he was rounding bases. either way trevan is happy.

nannie's easter egg hunt

wonderful, beautiful, fantastic, nannie had a great easter egg hunt for all of the grandkids that live around. because all of us have 2 families we have to celebrate with and the fact that easter, as it turns out, is not just about the easter bunny we decided to have the easter party/egg hunt on saturday. i am going to go ahead and say it was one of my most favorite times i have had with my family in a while. our "linner" was divine, the weather was nice, and it was so much fun! paige and robyn you better be there next year.......

the bunny was good this year and camouflaged his eggs. some of them were quite hard to find, jude needed my help.

hold on, that is not a giant egg! well actually it is, the egg just morphed into a baby and i am a giant. i know, would i have the baby already? it was nice of nannie to help bend for eggs because i cannot at this point.

jude "smiling" for the camera with his loot.

jude made it away with $8, cars keychains, eggs, and loads of candy.

p.s. another favorite part about the day? jude's outfit. AMAZING

the dying of the eggs

i loved today because it was good friday, i would say that it was a great friday. apparently the stock market it closed on good friday(i forget every year) so trevan didn't have to work. we went to park city with the greg's and then i joined terri and mo for dinner with brennan's "girlfriend" and family.

i had already bought easter egg dye so we decided that after dinner we would dye the eggs at yaya's. isn't it great that as your kids get older they actually are excited about holidays and understand things? well, i think it is. jude loved dying the eggs. he was sure to dye one for everyone in our family, sissy included (that is if she ever gets here).

he gets by with a little help from his friends

so proud of his orignal creations and he was SO mad that he couldn't sleep with them that night. its so tempting as a mother to let your 2 year old sleep with hard boiled eggs but i stood strong.

all boys love firetrucks

as i have mentioned before that trevan's uncle larry is the fire chief of farmington city. jude, being the 2 year old boy that he is, happens to love firetrucks so we went to go visit the firehouse. the last time we went to see the chief and his trucks jude was not as big of a fan. well things have changed my friend.

jude was so excited to be there (almost as much as larry was to show off his station). he got to sit in all the trucks and ambulances. even if he was a little nervous/scared he throughly enjoyed himself.

trevan loves to go up to farmington as much as jude does. i mean what little boy doesn't want to be a fireman at one point? i think firemen are just grown up 2 year olds. plus, we have a unique situation with a family member being a fire chief and need to to advantage of it. also, we got to stop by trev's cousin spenc's firehouse. that's right, larry's son is a fireman too (more a paramedic/engineer). we got a 2-fer today!

don't you even try to take away his fireman pencil, hat, badge, or bracelet.

terrible picture of everyone involved but it was such a good day. it was so fun to be a little family and go on an adventure. i figure we need to do things just the 3 of us while we can. it aint going to last long. poor jude, has no idea what is coming.

some fresh air

alas, spring may come it seems. we enjoyed some fresh (cold) air the other day at the elementary school by our house. its funny how much more coordinated jude became over the winter. he does the stairs and slides with ease these days. i love living with the 4 seasons because after each one is over i am so ready for the next one.

i want to enjoy something as much as jude enjoys slides.

our neighborhood may be "iffy" but our view and location is perfect!

i was worried we would escape from our jaunt without a tantrum but we were able to squeeze one in, thankfully.

jude is also now enjoying the sweet truck nannie gave him for his birthday.

hopefully one day he will learn how to drive it without someone pushing him.
(and no he is not down syndrome as this picture would suggest. also, he does have feet)

off to work to meet up with wendy, dizzy, muck, scoop, rollie, and lofty.

oh and did i mention that i got my stroller, the phil&ted e3 sport duo? jude LOVES it. really, it is way better than i expected and even trevan feels the same way. we have already tried the duo kit with mins and its extraordinary!

Happy Birthday Brookie!

love her....
she turned 22 and is not only my sister but best friend.

Happy 22nd Beetie
(as jude would say)

go sissy go!

had my first "up close & personal" appointment today with dr. parker. best news ever, i am dilated to a 2 and 40% effaced!!!!! this is huge for me because i never repeat NEVER dilated or did any effacement on my own with judakins. when i was induced at 39 weeks because of toxemia my body was no where near ready to deliver. needless to say, me so happy! maybe one day this pregnancy will be over. i do however realize that i could stay like this (at a 2) for 10 more weeks so i am trying not to get my hopes up too much. this also is great news for me trying to have a natural birth instead of c-section like jude. go sissy go!

p.s. and no we still have no name for her and are considering not naming her its way oo frustrating.

2 p.s. gained 8 lbs in 2 weeks, pre-toxemia signs.... wonderful. i am beginning to fill up like a water balloon yet again.

my name is kennan and i am a mother bear

today i became a mother bear. after some seriously consistant contractions and me not wanting to make dinner, trevan took us out to chick-fil-a for dinner. jude loves anyplace with a play place and chick-fil-a is no exception. so while trevan was ordering and getting our food i told jude he could play a little bit before he ate. so i sat in the play place while jude toddeled around and minded his own business. he found a little stool by the window and was watching for daddie and waving at him. when i hear these 4 little (4 or 5 year old) girls say:

"eeew, did you see that ugly boy down there?"
"he had blood all over his chin!"
"he is so gross!"
"lets go see him."

now normally i would have ignored it because they are just kids and they don't understand but these little brats slid down the slide, ran over to my innocent jude (waving out the window to his dad) and shoved him and said "hey!". i could not take another second. i got my fat pregnant butt off the bench and waddled over there and gave those girls a stern talking to. something along the lines of "you leave him alone! he is just a little boy with and ouchey and he is not bothering anyone! you leave him alone, right now!" i think i scared the girls because the left to go find their mothers (which p.s. thanks for leaving your children unattended!). jude was oblivious but i hate to think what would have happened to him had i not been there. he is not stupid, he would have know what they were saying. my poor sweet boy was just minding his own business enjoying his time in his 2 year old world.

i let him play a little bit longer until trevan was seated. once i sat down at the table i started sobbing. i cried through out dinner which concerned jude but i couldn't control it. it was the first time he was openly targeted because of his birthmark. i have been afraid of this since the first second i saw his shining face. i just didn't think it would come so soon, he is only 2. granted his face really only looks bad and noticeable when he has had his treatments but still, it was too much to handle.

trevan played it cool but you could tell his was furious. he was ready to kick some, excuse me, ass. once we got home and jude was asleep i went upstairs to find trevan silently crying laying next to jude as he slept. he kept asking me the same questions i ask everyday "why him, why our sweet jude? he is such a good boy.". there is no answer.

i don't know what we will do in the future. i mean the very next day at mcdonalds with yaya some little kids were pointing at him and laughing, very openly. sometimes i wonder "where are you mother's and didn't they teach you manners?" but i know i cannot blame them. they are just children, and kids will be kids. i just don't know what i should do about my jude. how do i protect him? i know i can't. i know that the lord gave jude this birthmark for a reason and that we need to learn from it, but it doesn't make it any easier. i never thought i would be the mother bear type of mom but what do you do? he is my heart and my soul and he is innocent. he has no control over it. just leave him alone! we get looks all the time when he has his surgeries and when its acting up. and don't think kids are the only ones who say things, adults are ignorant and stupid too. jude understands when someone says "ewww, what happened to his face?".

i cannot talk about it anymore. it makes me cry and it makes me sad. i don't need to be sad at this time in my life. i am very blessed. also, i need to instill self confidence in my son and not dwell on the negative. just thought i would vent.

PLEASE, just leave us alone!

just like that.....sigh

we moved jude into a big boy bed. we have been talking to him about it for about 2 months and we finally took to step, a giant step. i have to say i was not ready for him to do it, he is still my baby after all. realistically he didn't even "need" to move into a big boy bed because we bought sissy her own new crib. however, i already bought the bedding and accessories for his "airplane" room so i needed to put them to use. we just converted jude's crib into a full size bed. his room decor is not completely finished so i will post when it is. we still have some things to hang etc.

all and all jude has done great with the change. he goes to bed all by himself (after stories) and stays in bed all night. he gets up earlier but oh well. the best news is he still takes naps everyday even in his big bed for at least 2 hours and that means mommie gets a nap too! he is my hero!

jude is quite thrilled with the idea of having is own bed. its HUGE for him and he loves it. let the bouncing begin.

not sure what jude's smile is in this picture but he and his daddie are sure cute!

sweetums goes beddy bye.....
(and yes he is mother's son and will not sleep in sheets. silky only, please!)
