a new blog

so i have a new blog.

its called 5 questions.

i have had this crazy blog idea in my head for months now and i finally made it real. there are so many blogs i read, so so many, and sometimes i just wish i knew the writers of said blogs a little better. i mean i love cute kids, fashion, home decor, politics, and photography as much as the next guy but there has to be more! i have always been too nosy for my own good and i think i have found a way for it to work for the both of us.

that's where "5 questions comes" in. i ask you 5 questions, really 15 or so, but you get to choose 5 to answer from. some of the questions are personal, some are funny, some are awkward, and some are corny, there are questions for everyone's comfort level. once you have participated, i then post your answers on my new blog and feature you, and only you. this is your time to shine.... on someone else's blog and who doesn't love to shine? by being featured on my new blog you will not only have your moment to shine but also a way to get exposed to new people who want to know you too. its a win-win situation and i love it.

jude + soccer = happy mommie

baseball, basketball, football, golf, and tennis? well, trevan can have those sports because i got soccer. soccer is my game, the only sport i know more about than trevan does. freak, i played it for like 10 years (and yes i was a goalie, don't judge). i LOVES me some soccer and i have been waiting for the day to come that jude could play.

as you can see jude was pretty excited about today too.

my friend heather and i made sure the jude and tamari were on the same team. they may fight like cats and dogs but we are bound and determined to make them friends/lovers.

jude did not play the first quarter but stood on the side lines and cheered on (or danced) his fellow teammates. i think it was good for team moral.

between the long day at primary childrens and a high fever greta couldn't cheer on her best friend as i am sure she would have liked.

the usual fan club was there to support jude.

he is a pretty kewl guy.

jude is so my son.

it has been pretty rough for me the past week or so. it is in times like these i really have to reevaluate who kennan is. as much as i want to blog about what's been going on (and believe me i do) some things are far too personal to blog about, even for me. my life has been turned upside down. its time to rediscover me, find out who i am and what i want. i know what part i play in my life (mother, wife, sister, daughter, comic relief, bossy, friend, nosy) but who is underneath all of those things? do i even still like who i am? i sure hope so because i am at crossroads and i really need to know what i want and need and who i am.

am i the only one who wishes they knew what to expect and what was ahead? maybe not, because there is no way we would chose it..... even if it was good for us. i hate not being in control.

creepin' on in

i don't want to say it aloud in case its bad luck but alas spring is the in the air. my beloved lilac bushes are starting to bud and the mushrooms in our rotten grass are here to stay. i am sure it may snow a few more times, but it feels like spring is here to stay.

we have been park bound for 2 days straight and it feels miraculous.

and greta is still really, really cute.

an easter moment

easter felt like a blip on our radar this year, recovering from a 10 day illness combined with a huge birthday party, it all felt a little under done. i loved having sunday mostly to ourselves to be with our little family and focus on what easter is really about and listen to the "good word".

jude was so excited about dying eggs, so excited in fact that we bought our easter dying kit 2 months ago (dont' mind that we lost it and have bought 2 more since).

gretsie was happy to be a part of the event but really did not want her egg to come out of the pink dye.... ever.

it was a lazy easter morning covered with snow but mr. bunny still managed to get his eggs all laid in our front room.

since we had no church to go to on sunday our easter duds were a little toned down but i still managed to muster up something for the kids to wear.

dress? amazing.

shoes? to die for.

round brushed baby hair? hilarious.

greta? so damn cute.

and jude?

well he's not half bad himself. he could only stop for a moment.... his arms were too loaded with his easter loot to take to nannies for anything else.

hope your easter was swell.

celebrating 2 with gretsie

because turning 2 is a big deal, we have big parties, big presents, and big blog posts.

{side note: greta has been sick for 10 days but i thought even if you are sick you need to celebrate the day you are born}

jude was so excited to wrap greta presents and build her car..... he kept her presents a really good secret.

for the first time in our kids birthday history trevan had to work, new job and all. so we went and met trevan for work downtown and ate at the new city creek food court, its a high class food court.

i can't believe that 2 years ago i gave birth to this angel.

seems like she always been here, been ours.

life without greta is unimaginable.

always impressed at how well my little house can accommodate 25+ people.

brooke and i took it upon ourselves to make the kids 'yo gabba gabba' shirts while on our sewing trip. needless to say, they were a hit..... and mine were better than brooke's.
